NHL Betting Preview – 10th March 2020

NHL Betting Preview – 10th March 2020

Pittsburgh Penguins @ New Jersey Devils

When: 10th March, 7 p.m.

Where: Prudential Center

Our Pick: New Jersey Devils

The Penguins have lost eight from their last ten games and are in need of a win. The Penguins are third in the Metropolitan Division with a three-point gap on the Blue Jackets. The Penguins also have two extra games to play. They are 6 points off od the Capitals who are top of the table and lost last night against the Buffalo Sabres.

The New Jersey Devils are just playing now until the end of the regular season. They have no real chance of making a playoff position. The Devils have won their last two games but are still 8 points off second-bottom side the New York Rangers. The Devils are averaging 2.6 goals per game and are allowing 3.2 goals per game.

The Penguins have been poor on the road and picking up losses when they really shouldn’t have been. The Penguins look like strong favorites on paper, but they are likely to underperform at times. Take the Devils with no line at (+155) with no line at VIP.

Boston Bruins @ Philadelphia Flyers

When: 10th March, 7 p.m.

Where: Wells Fargo Center

Our Pick: Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers are in great form boasting a 9-game win streak and hot on the tails of the Washington Capitals on top of the Metropolitan Division. Just 1 point behind the Capitals a win for the Flyers would put them in the number one spot. Averaging 3.3 goals per game the Flyers are strong on offense. They have also been a powerful force in the last couple of games and could match the Bruins defense.

The Boston Bruins lost in their last outing but have still won 9 from their last 12 games. A big loss for Boston is Torey Krug and Brandon Carlo who both are out with upper-body injuries. Not a great sign when you are traveling to one of the hottest teams in the league. The Bruins suffered a defeat to their closest Eastern Conference rivals. Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Bruins 5-3.

This is set to be a close matchup. The fact the Flyers are in such good form it would not be a great idea to go against them while betting. Back the Flyers with no Line at (-105) with VIP.

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Toronto Maple Leafs

When: 10th March, 7 p.m.

Where: Scotiabank Arena

Our Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning

The Maple Leafs are on the back of a three-game losing streak. They are thirteen points off Tampa Bay. The Panthers are just 1 point off the Maple Leafs and will be aiming to overtake Toronto to get into the playoffs. The Maple Leafs are averaging 3.4 goals a game but allowing 3.2 goals per game. Inconsistency has plagued the Maple Leafs season and has ironically been the only constant for the side.

Tampa Bay Lightning has had a few unexpected results as well this season. They have slipped slightly further behind the Bruins. They managed to reduce the 8-point gap to 6 points after beating the Bruins in their last game 5-3. Nine of their last eighteen games Lightning have conceded 2 or fewer goals. Tampa Bay is going to make the playoffs regardless of the result here but is still playing to catch up on that 1st place spot.

Toronto might make it a game, but Tampa Bay has been good on the road this season and are a much better side. Take Tampa Bay against the spread (-1.5) at (+196) at VIP.
