Manchester United were the only team to let us down in last week’s Premier League tips. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team suffered an embarrassing 2-0 loss to Burnley at Old Trafford. They rebounded slightly with a facile 6-0 victory over Tranmere in the FA Cup but their task is much tougher this weekend with a game against European challengers Wolves.
Leicester City vs Chelsea
When: Saturday 1st February 7:30AM
Where: King Power Stadium
Our Pick: Leicester City +155
Generous odds for a Leicester team who have won 8 of their 12 home games this season. Chelsea are caught in no man’s land at the moment too. They are eight points behind Leicester in 3rd and six points ahead of Manchester United in 5th.
Obviously a victory for Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on Saturday will have a significant impact on the final Premier League standings but that looks unlikely. Star striker Tammy Abraham is struggling with injury and N’Golo Kante and Reece James are also likely to miss out.
For Leicester, Jamie Vardy is looks set to return to the starting line-up after being introduced as a second-half sub in the Carabao Cup against Aston Villa on Tuesday. Vardy can be backed at +115 to score anytime with VIP.
On the whole, Leicester look the most likely to come away from this one with a win. Back the Foxes to win at +155 with VIP Sports.
Liverpool vs Southampton
When: Saturday 1st February 10AM
Our Pick: Southampton (+2) -110
Two of the form teams in the Premier League. Liverpool host Southampton on Saturday afternoon. The Reds form has been no secret – Jurgen Klopp’s side have won 23 of their 24 league games, drawing only once. Ralph Hassenhuttl’s team haven’t had just as many plaudits but their form is no less impressive.
Southampton have won five of their last seven games, lifting them to 9th place in the league table. The Saints looked like relegation certainties after losing 9-0 Leicester back in October but their rise up the standings has been nothing short of phenomenal since. Danny Ings’ fourteen league goals has been the catalyst for their run and he can be backed at +200 to find the net on Saturday with VIP.
Lets be honest, any defeat for Liverpool would be a real shock and we don’t think that will happen this Saturday. However, they have been sneaking past teams with one and two goal victories over the last month. We fancy Southampton to keep it within a goal and for that reason we’re backing them with the 2 goal boost.
Manchester United vs Wolves
When: Saturday 1st February 12:30PM
Where: Old Trafford
Our Pick: Wolves +250
Ole Gunnar’s Solskjaer’s new signing Bruno Fernandes looks set to make his debut for Manchester United against Wolves on Saturday evening. He’ll feel right at home coming up against a Wolves side with more than a hint of Portuguese flair in their side.
Wolves are on of the most exciting teams in the Premier League and manager Nuno Espirito Santo has assembled a really talented squad. Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez bring a combination of power and precision that would frighten any defence.
There is very little to split between these two sides. They have almost identical records in the Premier League – both on 34 points – and there was only a Juan Mata goal between them over 180 minutes in their FA Cup 3rd Round clash a few weeks ago.
Marcus Rashford will miss out through injury once again for United and that just tips the balance in Wolves’ favour. Bet on Wolves to win at +250 with VIP Sports.
