NBA Betting Preview – 29th January 2020

Memphis Grizzlies @ New York Knicks

When: Wednesday 29th January @ 7:35PM

Where: Madison Square Garden, New York

Odds: Memphis Grizzlies -140 New York Knicks +115

A win in MSG for the Memphis Grizzlies will bring their record to .500 for the season.

Our Pick: Memphis Grizzlies (-2.5) -108

The Memphis Grizzlies head to New York to play the second game of a back-to-back on Wednesday night. They beat the Denver Nuggets at home on Tuesday night to extend their winning streak to three. Another win here will bring them up to an even 24-24 record for the season and consolidate their 8th seeding position in the Western Conference.

The Knicks have one of the worst records in the league and have lost seven of their last ten games. It looks set to be another year in the doldrums for Knicks fans. The one positive they can take is the possibility of another top three draft pick joining R.J Barrett next season.

The Grizzlies have been catching the eye since Christmas with their exciting offensive play. They have the 8th-ranked offense in the league and rank No.1 in assists. That’s largely down to the talents of one man. Rookie point guard Ja Morant has provided the attacking impetus for Jaren Jackson Jr., Jonas Valanciunas and Dillon Brooks to feed off.

The Grizzlies have too much on the offensive end for the Knicks to handle – back them to beat the spread at -108 with VIP Sports.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Sacramento Kings

When: Wednesday 29th January @ 10PM

Where: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento

Odds: Oklahoma City Thunder -150 Sacramento Kings +125

It’s been another season to forget for Sacramento Kings fans. They host Oklahoma on Wednesday night.

Our Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder (-3) -108

Billy Donovan’s consistent Oklahoma City Thunder side have been one of the most impressive in the NBA this season. Chris Paul and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have flourished in tandem while Thunder stalwart Steven Adams has provided steel on the defensive end.

They head to California to face the typically underachieving Sacramento Kings. Everything seems right – a young, up-and-coming coach in Luke Walton and a strong core of Buddy Hield, De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III – but everything has just gone so wrong.

The formbook suggests only one outcome from this one – an Oklahoma City Thunder win. Bet on Chris Paul & Co. to get the win on the road with VIPCasino.ca.

Toronto Raptors @ Cleveland Cavaliers

When: Thursday 30th January @ 7PM

Where: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland

NBA Champions Toronto Raptors play the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night at the Q.

Our Pick: Toronto Raptors

For years, Cleveland have been the Raptors’ bogey team. Toronto would consistently impress in the regular season before inevitably losing to the Cavaliers. That’s flipped on its head now. The Raptors are the current holders of the Larry O’Brien Trophy while Cleveland are off the radar in terms of the NBA landscape.

Toronto have coped admirably with the loss of Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. Last season’s Most Improved Player Pascal Siakam has stepped up to the plate while Fred VanVleet and Norm Powell have come on leaps and bounds. Wiley veteran Kyle Lowry has been as impressive as ever.

The Raps have now won eight in a row and they could make it ten with games against the Cavs and Pistons on the horizon.

Bet on the Raps to win with VIP.
